Looking to meet more live painters in Philly!

So I'm really interested in collaborating with Philly artists that like to create live performance painting... There are a bunch of artists in NYC that are doing awesome Art Battles (www.artbattles.com) and other live painters all over the country that are creating some really cool stuff as well. I'm hoping to find more like-minded people that are interested in pursuing this style of art. We can paint in all kinds of different venues and approach this concept in many different ways: solo improvisations, live painting competitions, a fine tuned collaboration with multiple artists on one canvas (think an abstract artist that practices with a urban graffiti artist or cartoonist), group consciousness murals, and even super-theatrical painting performances on stage.

Artists, Models, and Other Creatively-Wired Individuals,

We are putting together a group of people interested in honing their life drawing and/or modeling skills.

ARTISTS:
As there will be no official teacher for the class this is meant for people who are comfortable being self-directed artists. However, if you wish, people of varying skill levels and experience can help and guide each other.

MODELS:
We value diversity so all types of models are encouraged to join regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, body type. Ideally we would have a good mix of different kinds of models as well as artists

What we offer is a modern and clean studio (with a bathroom) in safe part of SF 4 blocks away from Powell BART

As of today we have these time slots available:
Mondays: 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
Tuesdays: 8:30 AM-12:00 PM, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
Wednesdays: 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
Fridays: 7:30 PM-9:30 PM
Saturdays: 3:30 PM-9:30 PM
Sundays: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM

Ideally we would like to have a sizable group or groups that meet regularly so that we can make it worthwhile for everyone involved.

Art Studio Ideas

1) GET A PORTABLE STUDIO – Keep an art journal with you 24/7/365 as it can
be amazingly affective for you and your work. It is a powerful tool to
access your own personal creative space at the drop of a hat! Most of all it
allows you to hit the studio with out having a formal space that you
physically go to, or when you are away from your formal studio. All in all,
the important thing is that it is your space to have and to hold, regardless
of where you are and what you are doing. You can just connect with that
essential part of you that wants to WORK any time, anywhere.

2) CREATE A COMMUNITY SPACE – All over the globe there are spaces available
for rent. Do some research! Find out from who, what, when and where you can
rent out a space. Then take the space and cute it into 4 separate spaces.
You take one space and rent the other 3 out for whatever your expenses are
(rent, heat, electric). This is a totally positive, exciting way to develop
a free space for yourself and support others who are looking for inexpensive
work space and want to be around other like-minded artists! If you present
yourself to the owner of the space in a serious manner with a clear plan and
a commitment to the project he or she might even create the space for you
and keep your start up costs real low.

3) You can TAKE THIS IDEA and build on it all the way to owning your own
building with studios and a gallery, art café and so on… It has been done
all over the world for many years. Just start small, use your creative mind,
and think "space"! Just keep thinking about it until you make it happen! It
does not take money, it takes time, smarts and the willingness to believe!

Ladies and gentlemen of the art world, we are seeking any and all creative humans who use their skill and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others. That is, we are looking for those whose life is art, and everything they do is DIY. We are searching for those who are creating the Hand-Made Nation. We are calling !ALL! make-believers, dreamers and reality re-arrangers. We are searching hi and low for lowbrow-urban-contemporary-pop-surrealism, pop art, op art, hard-edge, lyrical abstraction, post minimalism, which might be interpreted by some to mean that we are looking only for painters, but that is most definitely not the case. For you see, of course, we need masters of typography, sketchers, illustrators, satirical stencilers, screen printing is way cool, and yes, you too, graffiti fools. Least we forget every culture jammer in the hood. Do you manipulate earth/land/sand/plants/junk into art? Then we have a home for you.

Now, we know some of you may be thinking “What about Dadas’ Dadaists, though?” To this we say, but of course we are calling all inspired by DADA- for where would art be without fluxists, productivism, neoplasticism, pittura, metafisica, arbeitsrat and bauhaus. Well, we are looking for all of “you” from then and now, if any of you still are around. And one may wonder… What about the cubists? We say, “But of course.” Conceptualists? Indeed. Installationists? Please! One might ask if we are seeking anything that might fall under postmodernist modernist who are not distracted by abstractionists and other IST’S. Of course there is always impressionism, post-minimalism, pre-contemporaryism, and expressionism. Are you working in symbolism or surrealism or any of the other -isms that we have not yet mentioned? Well come on out. But wait that’s not all, that could not possibly be all this call for ARTE is all about? Well, Dali you’re right,

This call goes out to all kinetic sculptors, fire sculptors, sound artists bending invisible waves, and video projectionists playing with light. We must invite the minds of the poets and their spoken slam voices, along with improv comedians who mimic the true history of time. Or was that the klown? How can we forget about the klowns! Mimes? Performers “performing” art, puppeteers with their puppets, musicians making sounds. Oh, and least we forget outsider artists wanting to be outside.

In short, we invite all the conceivable movements, modes, and theories of art known to wo/man kind. We say to you, the Artisans of the world who wish to unite because the world needs ART, because the world’s not right. It is time, Your window of opportunity is now. Our space is your blank canvas. Your dreams are our inspiration. You and your art are invited to take part in this epic artistic endeavor.

The world may be going to hell… So let’s make some art.

Illegal Echo / untitled echo finds its origin in an excavation of memory, personal and public, and how in this terrain we can find irrepressible connections in the present world of both movement and images. Integrating dance-theater with photojournalism, the work navigates the intersecting landscapes of peripheral identity, transience and the instability of both body and social standing. To dance a falling line of recall. The distances between myth, allusion, and concrete subject, the missing/searching, outsider/insider, and the internal markers to what is one’s said society or place of origin are dually explored through the medium of dance and visual theatre.

The work contains a diverse landscape of sound from the classical to the urban, from noise to silence, featuring vocalist/indy-musician Odessa Chen and classically trained pianist/new music advocate Kanoko Nishi combined with an assemblage of street/field recordings. It will also feature an image to image dialogue with veteran photojournalist Robert L. Terrell.

In part, this new work has been made from the research, distillation, and trace of a two month movement workshop and impromptu writing engaged with local homeless and formerly homeless individuals here in the SF Bay Area. An extension of this work will be exhibited in the lobby gallery space.

Performed by Glenn Curtis, Leonore Deaton, Christy Funsch, Jennifer A. Minore, Phoenicia Pettyjohn, Noel Rokswel, Sarah Sass, and Skorpio

Inspired by the charismatic Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune (1920-1997), To Mifune tells the story of a cowgirl’s (Christy Funsch) journey to meet her samurai idol (Skorpio). The characters for this work are drawn from Mifune’s roles, as well as from roles in acclaimed Japanese film-maker Akira Kurosawa’s Yojimbo, Stray Dog, and The Seven Samurai. Funsch’s work examines how one’s individuality shifts through interactions with others: movement is borrowed, shared, exchanged, and exaggerated among all of the characters. The protagonist’s idea of who she is changes as her context changes, and by the time she meets the person she thought was her idol, she has come to appreciate the perhaps less grand---though certainly not less admirable---heroics of those she has met on her journey.

Hip-hop DJ K808 mixes live original beats with samples from both Kurosawa’s film Yojimbo and country singer Patsy Montana into a living sound score for the work. The result combines multiple voices with a hip-hop sensibility, which Funsch defines as “an assertion of individuality”. Funsch’s idiosyncratic collection of performers for To Mifune exemplifies her fascination with style as a way of linking the personal with the collective. According to Funsch, “When we create a little truth for ourselves, a way we want to be seen, we are usually seeking empathy. The commonality of this impulse connects us, regardless of the diversity of our movement choices.”

CALL TO LOS ANGELES ARTISTS!

The first of three Barnsdall Arts Markets will occur on Sunday, August 19th 2007 from 11am - 5pm. The event is free for the public to attend, and welcomes those of all ages. The event will take place in the lower parking lot of Barnsdall Art Park, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90027.

The event will feature a variety of local artists showing and selling their works. It is cosponsored by the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council and presented in cooperation with the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angeles. The Los Feliz Ledger is the media sponsor and future shows will be held on October 21 and December 16.

There will be over 40 artists exhibiting everything from paintings, sculpture, glasswork, textile art, ceramics, photography, handmade paper goods, wood works and more. The day will also include a family art workshop available at no cost. A variety of light snacks and refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Call for Art ~ the Greenhouse Project

The intention of this work is to recognize and embrace the natural cycles of life, to arrange
our lives in collaboration with natural cycles, and in doing so, we can grow a greener, more
sustainable, integrated, and meaningful experience of our world. The Greenhouse Project
is intended to be an encounter that serves to reconnect and reawaken the participants to
take an active part in the universal, cyclical cycles of life. Through interaction, reflection,
and co-creation, the participants come to encounter themselves as part of the movement of
the Universe. When we awaken to the fact that we are collaborators with nature, we are
more effective in initiating and sustaining beneficial change in our world.

How can you get involved?

Contribute a 4-5 part series or a single piece of art in any medium, and spread the word!
I'm looking for any work that illustrates a natural process, however specifically or broadly
construed. The art could honor the elements, the seasons, any natural cycle involving
plants, water/rain, fire, etc., cycles of life, birth, and death, the passing of time, growth and
decay. Series in all mediums encouraged – paintings, sculptures, photographs, masks,
poems, found objects, natural things (rocks, flowers, plants, feathers) etc. Feel free to run
with it, cuddle with it, expand it, contract it, turn it upside down, inside out, tie it up, set it
free, whatever pleases you the most.

Art contributions made from recycled, reused, and natural materials are highly encouraged.

Other stuff needed:
exotic/tribal fabrics, sheer fabrics/scarves, prayer flags, extension cords, wind chimes, plant
pots, decorative containers, rocks, dried herbs, candles, candleholders, offering bowls,
bells, mirrors, christmas lights, el-wire, and any other miscellaneous items that fit with the
concept and spirit of the project.

Contribute NOW, in time for Flipside (www.burningflipside.com), or after
that, for Bonnaroo and Rainbow Gathering, or even after that,
for Burning Man (www.burningman.com). Play along at home and become a part of
the (r)evolution of this installation in its various incarnations. Stay tuned for a slideshow of

Wikipedia missing "Collaborative Art"

First of all, thanks for you guys being patient with all of the posting that I have been doing on this tribe. I am new to collaborative art and I want to learn as much as I can.

From my study of the history, I was shocked to find limited information ESPECIALLY on Wikipedia. So, I took the liberty to start the documentation of it there.

www.onesimplepixel.com - my first collaborative art project (please help!!!)

On January 1st, 2007, 4AM EST, I launched the one simple pixel project (www.onesimplepixel.com). I Attempting to create one single image, 1000 x 1000 pixels in size, through the collective contributions of 1,000,000 people. Each person chooses one single pixel and personalizes it by giving it a name, choosing its color and optionally a comment or quote for the rest of the world to see. The theories are countless. Many first thought the result will just be a collection of random pixels. However as the image slowly appears it makes one wonder “what will the image actually become?” Only one million people contributing to the one simple pixel project can answer that question.

Let me know what you guys think. If you got any other ideas for pixel projects, please share. Maybe we can collaborate.

Question: Why collaboration?

I am very new to collaborative art, but I believe now that this will be something that I will probably do for the rest of my life. I am just so fascinated with the concept of collaboration in the creation of anything.

My background is computer science and recently business – my day job is research and development. I have been studying the Open Source (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source) community for years and it is amazing what people have been able to create. So to my question:

Why collaboration, especially in art?

In my opinion, the creation of art by definition is a ‘selfish’ representation. What I mean by ‘selfish’ is that the act is completely focused on conveying and creating something alone – in a sense for yourself OR for yourself to show off others and say “look what I did.” Granted this desire to show off what you have created might be for the greater good to compel people to think, however, it does originate just from you - sort of like my post here 

Anyway, I believe you can have similar motivations in collaborative art, however the difference is that you share the reward.

Personally, I am moving toward doing collaborative art just because I feel this innate desire to work with others for the greater good and understanding. So, am I alone in this perspective? I am crazy?

strange art opportunity

Hello,

I've started to collaborate on a few art pieces with another local artist. We are sort of trading back and forth with work that has been inspired by each other.

The piece I want to send back is a sound piece that is inspired by a found photo he gave me. What I'm going to do is assemble some found sounds and some monolgue over the phone and mix them together in a sound program to create a 2 minute or so piece.

So, what I need is a female to improvise a 30 second (or so) monologue based on three key words which I will provide and to record it on my voice mail.

Evolutionary Collaborative Art

Dreamzone is an online project I'm working on where users collaborate to evolve an image closer and closer to an objective. One person submits the objective and the initial sketch. For example, the objective could be 'A man crying'. People can submit edits to the drawing, restricted to changes of up to 15% of the image. People can also vote on each others submissions (but not their own) - they vote on the extent to which the modifications achieve the objective of the image. The winner of each round then goes forward to be the template for the next generation. And so it goes on and the image evolves closer and closer to the objective.

I've had some quite interesting results with very low number of hits at the moment. In theory, it should be possible to evolve a decent image even if there are no great artists involved. A lot of the power is in the selective pressures of the voting rather than in the drawings themselves.

I'd love to encourage more people to come to the site and maybe even provide some feedback. As you'll see, the site really is beta and is in constant development....

A weekend gathering for collaborative and creative reflection. 5th - 7th October, 2007 tbc.
Institute for Advanced Studies, Lancaster University, North West England.

INTRODUCTION

The Knowledge Lab is an attempt to provide a collective space for anti-capitalist reflection. It is located at the margin of the university, an institution essentially geared towards the production of knowledge as a resource for corporate interest and as justification for particular constellations of power relations.
This knowledge lab will address art and ways of critically thinking about our world. Within this broad region of enquiry, the lab will encompass notions of life and art as a political commitment, the influence art can exert in politics and how political ideas in turn influence art. It will also address new ways of making art and how this relates to technologies and social changes, and the use of art as an anti-capitalist means to change and fight the system.

We hope that the knowledge lab will not merely address, but also show that art can initiate critical thinking in the various guises outlined above. Our expectations, in terms of the event, and its outcome, are that this be a sharing of creative ideas and ideas about creativity. We hope that it will draw together people with a common interest in art and alternative ways of living, but working in different fields. From this collective thinking we hope that people will be incited to realize, or make manifest, some of these ways of living and thinking creatively when they leave: We will learn from each other.

STREAMS

Like previous knowledge labs the day will be divided into four streams, each will take place in a separate room.

STREAM 1: TECHNOLOGY Free software, art spaces and interfaces, hardware, DIY and recycling/reusing.

STREAM 2: WAYS OF LIVING This stream concerns process, moment and performance. It is the political stream where we will consider primarily imaginative resistance and artivism, but also touch on debates surrounding gender issues, community and cultural production, and personal/political. We hope to see papers touching on initiatives in direct democracy; the art of changing that system, and the paradigms of inspiration. We would like to discuss how artivism will change society, possibles networks of artivists, ways of action.

STREAM 3: AUTHORSHIP Copy rights, ownership, patenting, and appropriation. (Creative commons, Copyleft,...)

STREAM 4: THE ART MARKET (new ways of) curating, spaces (physical and virtual) to show art, ways of making money: Marketing, the means of production, market forces and anti-market forces, the art market, and art and ethics.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Each day will be split into two parts. On Saturday and Sunday morning papers will be presented in each of the four streams, each lasting 20-30 minutes. Papers will be followed by a brief question period of 10-15 minutes. The afternoon will be divided into discussion periods in each of the four streams. During the weekend there will also be a separate space for workshops and performances.
There are therefore a variety of ways to contribute to the weekend. See below for details:

ACADEMIC PAPERS

The list of streams is not prescriptive, it simply outlines some of the issues we envisage arising given the general themes.

Please also send papers on other themes, these will be gratefully considered.

Submit an abstract of no more than 500 words. In addition please enclose a brief biography. Try to make this, along with your paper, as accessible as possible.

FACILITATED DISCUSSIONS (INVOLVEMENT AND SKILLS SHARING)

If you have an idea for one of the afternoon discussion topics that links in with one of the four streams then send in a your idea and think about one of the two types of involvement below:

If you'd like to take a more pro-active role during the conference, you might want to ADOPT a session - that is, prepare it in advance (suggest questions, main issues, reading material etc and propose the length of the session), arrive prepared for discussion themselves, attend it, and participate passionately in the debates.

We also need people to FACILITATE sessions - ideally a session should NOT be adopted and facilitated by the same person(s). Consider that facilitators are usually best if experienced in their task. Any which way, please get in touch.

== WORKSHOPS, ARTWORKS, AND PERFORMANCES ==

These will broadly tie in with one of the four streams above. Send a proposal [Max: A single side of A4], elaborate on: What your contribution will be e.g. a workshop, a performance, an artwork. How long you envisage it taking. Do you need any equipment or materials? Do you want to limit the number of participants? If so, how many? What do you hope will be born out of this? How do you propose to arrive at this end?

SATURDAY EVENING

DJ and VJ session: Call for DJs and VJs to send in samples so they might come and contribute to an evening of art in many guises. As well as other music, visual, perfomance, etc artist and Artivist.
Nb. Groups are welcome to contribute workshops, materials for display and/or distribution.

In one guise or another, religion currently pervades discussion. In a fire fanned by fear of Islam, resorting to religion has become acceptable in the West too.

Faith is back with a vengeance - as a source of certainty and stability, a safe haven, a refuge with its own norms and values, closely connected with the idea of a closed society that is based on tradition and brotherhood.
But what happens when this faith comes in contact with the surrounding world, an open society that is continually changing, based as it is on dialogue among various opinions? Ultimately the separation of church and state is one of the basic principles of Western society, and a globalized world, with its free exchange of goods and ideas, is a source of heresy.

God and Allah, the Vatican and Washington, holy scripture and law books, global and local, love and resentment: The Noorderlicht Photofestival 2007 investigates what happens when faith meets the world around it, where the collisions of different value systems lead to friction.

Act of Faith is an international group exhibition that will be accompanied by a special catalogue. Previous main exhibitions of the festival have drawn enthusiastic responses and are now touring all over the world.

lewis carroll theme party

first show was january 27 2004@ Van Kleef's in Oakland.
It was quite a production inluding the queen's concert,
tea party trio, suitcase puppet show of walrus & carpenter
and the jabberwock monstermasks. twas a mad evening
of fun.
the next was a one man show for an intimate audience
of close friends.
it's third year running was the mad tea party with a book
& c.d. to accompany.
the 4th year is set to be in co-operation with
the lucid dream lounge.
this is the culmination of a lifetimes connection to
the writings of Lewis Caroll,
here was my original Idea :I'ts a glam rock opera,
Spacey sci-fi, I like ziggy style, and kabuki japanese
cats, bunraku, noh theatre. this is a description of
a young lewis caroll, in some fanciful asian opium den,
being served and having the hallucination that he
watered down to create alice's adventures in
wonderland. focusing on the bestiary of "Jabberwok"
, the white rabbit, the tea party, and a god-like
presence of the cheshire (cat).
seeking performers, puppet craft, and hosts for
this would bee epic of psychedelic performance art.
follow thee white rabbit...
the set so far
red queen (an original)
white rabbit(+new verses)
the walrus & the carpenter (to music)
I am the walrus (mutant version)
the humpty dump (mix of humpty dance with parts
of eggman & the original poem)
jabberwocky(grunge version)

the inverse set also features some surprizes from
the collective of songwriters (the likes of the hobo gobbelins,
sourmash hug band & accordion plague)

AT THE START OF THE SHOW:
white rabbit makes an appearance & then takes us
"through the rabbit hole". when we hit the bottom
a red queen appears: I'm bored to tears with the likes
of you! I declare that there shall be a concert to
amuse me & my royal court."
at this point a page begins calling forth the appointed
acts,
***still looking for quick cabaret style performances
(2-3 songs) which can work with a wonderland style

when it comes time for the hatter to sing,
he does so off key & tempo, so badly that the
queen shouts: "stop him! he's murdering time!!!"
and a guard roughly ejects the hatter from the "stage".
perhaps a bit of mumbling as the court complains
of the hatter's ruination of the concert.
focus shifts to the tea party set.
mad hatter: Oh bugger! they've broken my watch!
march hare: let me see that watch hatter.
(smears it with a thick layer of butter)
that should do the trick.
hatter: (shakes watch & listens) nope, it's still broken
now, we'll be stuck in tea time forever.
dormouse: play us a song hatter, to help us pass the time
hatter plays white rabbit....
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

at this point a mock turtle comes in with
a taureen of hot green soup, followed by a
gryphon.
hatter: I say there, mock turtle what's that
you've got?
mock: it is a most beautiful soup! try some
(ladles some into tiny cups passing some to the party)
hatter:delicious!
as the band strikes up the beautiful soup song
the soup service continues.

(smoked oyster on a slice of french bread with a dash
of pepper & vinegar) are passed around.

these next verses so, I'll do a bit of explaining in
advance.
he attempts to explain (with help from alice) the
1st & last verse (same) of jabberwocky at the end,
the soundtrack starts & the creatures emerge.

Audio Tapes Wanted

Hey everyone,
I'm working on a project that requires several hundred audio cassette tapes (yes, those clunky objects that held our music in the days before iPods, CDs and .mp3 players).

I know a lot of people have a stash of old tapes in a box in the basement that they've forgotten about. Why not get rid of the tapes and donate 'em to a good cause?! I will recycle the tapes (via true recycling, not downcycling) and use them as part of my upcoming album.

hi, my names emily. i am currently working on a language/text based project thru the internet, and i need to collect some resources. im not sure what the final outcome of this project will be, but i will definitely keep anyone updated who is interested, and post pictures or something once ive got them.

visually describe something that you can see.
something from right now, in your vicinity.
or something from later, that catches your eye somewhere down the line. do not reference the thing for what it is.
(if its a lamp, dont say "this lamp is blue.")

then reply back with the description, and the location of the object you describe.
(my bedroom, 31 west university, alfred, ny.)

also, send the request on to some other people you have as friends on here. i havent quite figured out how to get those to me. forwarding?

At the crossroads at midnight

that she must be alone
to face up to her demons

be aware of just who I am

as she set forth her flames,
her sorcerer's lore, her alchemic runes
So she'd know who to honor, to break

her journey, her tools.

Los Angeles Through the Eyes of Artists

In commemoration of the City of Los Angeles' 225th birthday in
September of 2006, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument will
present, L.A. 225, an exhibit that explores the cultural, political,
social, historical and geographical landscapes of Los Angeles as seen
through the eyes of artists. Artists are invited to submit works of any
medium that reflect their perception of the City of Los Angeles.
Deadline for entries is August 3, 2006. For more information, please

This October will see the launch of a new eight-week long digital arts
festival, twonotten, and this is your opportunity to be part of it.
Submissions are now being called for from digital artists who wish to
showcase their work. The final venues for the festival are to be
confirmed, although we can announce that the bargate monument gallery
and a number of artvaults in Southampton will be part of the event.

Exhibition submission criteria
Artists or groups wishing to submit work for the exhibition must provide
the following information:
- Current CV, inclusive of an 'artist profile' and email address.
- Written proposal (maximum of 500 words). Tell us about the piece(s)
of work you
are submitting.
- Visual representations (images on CD are preferred, however this is
not
essential).
- The dimensions of your piece(s).
- Any technical requirements / specifications the piece(s) may require
(including equipment needed or equipment being supplied by you). Some
equipment is available, but the organisers welcome the use of artist's
own
equipment for the exhibition.
- £10.00 entry fee per artwork in order to cover administrative and
insurance
costs. Please make all cheques payable to the organiser's 'a space'.
The arts
organisation a space has been actively supporting and exhibiting
emerging
artistic talent for the last five years. In association with their
partners
(cockneydog and ocean pixel), this new platform, twonotten, will
support digital
based practitioners. For more information regarding a space please

NB
- There is no strict format to follow when entering, please submit a
proposal in a
format that you feel best explains your work and concerns.
- If you require your proposal to be returned, please provide a stamped
addressed

- No funding is available to commission new works.
- All media submitted will be considered for artwork that either deals
with digital
or technology issues, or artwork in which digital technology was
critical to its
production.
- Media can include:
o Video / installation / print / performance / sculpture /
interactive
/ illustration / animation / electronic audio / computer based music

Selection
All proposals submitted will be considered. An independent panel will
select the works to be exhibited. The decision of the panel is final
and will be based on
the work's suitability for the festival as well as issues of quality.

Details
- Cut-off date: Submissions must be received by Friday 1st September.
- You will be informed of the panel=92s decision by Friday 8th
September.
- You must be able to deliver your work to Southampton by Monday 2nd
October.
- You must be prepared for your work to be shown in a number of possible
locations.
As this exhibition is in the form of a festival (multiple sites) your
work maybe
selected for any one of a number of venues situated in Southampton
- You will be required to aid the promotion of the event through
assisting in
raising awareness through your own database or artistic networks.
Promotional
material will be supplied to you in order for this to be achieved.
- You must be prepared to have your 'artist profile', edited artwork
description
and supplied images featured as part of the advertising campaign
(online and
print), should the organisers deem it necessary.
- The exhibition will open to the public on Friday 20th October 2006
and continue until Friday 15th December 2006, with a private viewing
of the
exhibition scheduled for the week prior to the exhibition opening
(this date
will be confirmed in due course).

WORKING DIGITALLY [e.g. interactive environments, events, physical /
site specific installation and performance]

Lovebytes Digital Space Commissions offer funding and exhibition
opportunities for creative, digital and interactive artworks. The
commissioned works will be exhibited as part of Lovebytes International
Festival of Digital Art 2007, 19 - 24 March 2007, Sheffield, UK.

Funding is available for the creation of new work and the completion or
exhibition of existing work. Up to £5,000 (GBP) is available for each
project. The aim of the commissions is to create a unique showcase for
creative digital work in South Yorkshire, with the Lovebytes
Festivalproviding an annual exhibition platform. There are also a range
of other exhibition opportunities throughout the year.

Originally born in Munich, Germany in 1975, the daughter of a US Army Staff Sargeant and a lovely German Fraulein, I've been a visual artist since I could hold a pencil and a pair of scissors, properly. My art has always had a unique style to it that has carried over through the years. I could draw before I could write, and I don't see any point in stopping now. My purpose for having this particular site is to put up a flag that everyone can see from afar..

My other creative interests include dj-ing, music production, and furniture restoration/recreation.
